It is with great pleasure that we welcome you to the city of Porto for the 28th Porto Cancer Meeting that will be held at i3S – Institute for Research and Innovation in Health, in Porto, on May 12-13, 2022. 

The topic of the 28^th edition will be Extracellular Vesicles, Cell Communication and Cancer.

The meeting will be centred on the Intercellular Communication network that connects all the cellular components of cancer, with a specific focus on extracellular vesicles (EVs). We will discuss the latest discoveries regarding both the basic biology and clinical translational of the mechanisms used by cancer cells to communicate with neighbour cells and cells at distant organs. In particular, the program will explore the functions of EVs in cancer biology, EVs and novel therapeutic approaches in cancer, and EVs and immune response in cancer. We will have a special session on metastasis, focused on the question “How cancer spreads”.

The Meeting has a multidisciplinary and informal atmosphere that over two days brings together researchers from around the world to share and discuss their latest findings, providing opportunities to expand the scientific basis of cancer research. Besides keynote lectures, we will have talks by experts, selected talks, and speed talks, which will be held in a familiar environment, allowing detailed discussions.
